Melissa Harris Perry: you are truly the epitome of a hypocrite!

Here we go again: another example of someone screaming about offensive language yet had no problem uttering derogatory remarks about short men.

Melissa Harris Perry seemed incensed the other day on MSNBC when one of her guests referred to the prospective Speaker of the House, Paul Ryan, as a "hard worker".  Her claim was that it could be offensive to those that were slaves and we should be careful how it is used...

In May, this same woman (who wants people to watch what they say) had no problem
sneering at Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather's weight (both weigh between 145 and 150lbs), saying that she outweighed both of them and wondered why "we care about little guys fighting?"

Here is the link for that bout of hypocrisy....about 5:50 into the clip.

What's the matter Melissa, aren't they man enough for you?  You clearly snickered at their weight and their height; I guess that makes them less of men to you.   Are tall men the only ones who should be able to entertain us and make gobs of money?  Perhaps you are the one who should watch what you say Melissa Harris Perry; I find what you said offensive.

Oh wait, I forgot, making derogatory, snide remarks about short men is ok but don't you dare refer to someone as a "hard worker", how offensive!

Oh and BTW, speaking of hard workers... many short men are "hard workers" and would you like to know why?  Because of people like you, who seem to think that all the glory should be reserved for tall men. Now, us short men have to work extra hard to succeed in life!

On a side note, I do wish to point out some more hypocrisy that exists.  Why is it that after all the outrage last year against domestic violence (especially after the Ray Rice tape emerged) did people then turn around and put $200 million into Mayweather's pockets?  Wasn't he convicted of multiple domestic assaults?

The hypocrisy in this country never ceases to amaze me and Melissa Harris Perry epitomizes it!

Are you depressed because you are short?

Have a look at this commentary from Short Guy Central on an article written about how being short leads to depression.

http://shortguycentral.com/P-69/being-short-makes-you-depressed

I will honestly say that I do get depressed at times but not necessarily because of my short stature but how society treats me based on my stature.

I am quite sick of society and the media trivializing the issue of heightism because it doesn't "compare" to other forms of oppression.  You can't compare what some disparate groups endure with others because it will always differ.  Just because they aren't the same or as extreme doesn't mean that the person or group who experience it aren't adversely affected by it.

Discrimination is wrong when it is directed at any group!

People jump to little person's defense during offensive job interview

It is nice to see that some people out there understand that constant references to someone's lack of height are tiresome and insulting.

Sadly, though this was a staged interview to see how people would react, it does happen.  I was once told by a manager that she thought I was incapable because I was a little guy.

Fox news', Jesse Watters, refers to Jay Glazer as a "little midget"

I was watching "The Five" on Fox News today and one of the panelists today, unfortunately, was Jesse Waters.

During a later segment, where they were talking about Alex Rodriguez throwing a football on Fox's pregame show on Sunday, Jesse Watters referred to Jay Glazer as a "little midget" because he was unable to catch an overthrown football from Rodriguez which then hit a screen.  Normally, I would let this go but the way Watters said it is what got my attention; there was no smile on his face when he said it, so it clearly wasn't said in a joking manner.  Watters stands probably about 6'3' or 6'4" himself, so he probably doesn't think highly of shorter men anyway and it was apparent to me that he didn't view Jay Glazer's stature too highly.  Gee Jesse, why not just call him a "little piece of shit" and get it over with?

Short boys parents suing school for his suicide

Last year,  Lamar Hawkins, a 14 year old who stood under 5'0" tall, took his own life after being repeatedly bullied at school.  Hmmmmm...and the school did nothing...go figure...he was undersized after all.

Saudi women divorces husband for his short stature!

Yes, one woman from the Middle East(many of whom no doubt experience much maltreatment and abuse from their husbands and their culture) could no longer take the mockery of having a husband shorter than her.

Being raped,  beaten and treated like third class citizens seems to be common over there and the women have to tolerate it  BUT A SHORT MAN IS UNBEARABLE TO THEM!.

Says it all doesn't it?
